Making Literacy Visible Across Brown County
Here’s what happened
We brought people together around a shared goal: meet families where they are at. We said: “Let’s build a literacy community.”
What changed
ABC Conmigo | ABC with Me launched in collaboration with Brown County Library and Casa ALBA Melanie, bringing bilingual literacy experiences into the community. Another Achieve Brown County Action Team is developing new ways to bring literacy into laundromats, waiting rooms, and public parks or walking areas.
Why it matters
When we bring ideas, relationships, and strengths together, we can create opportunities no one could build alone. Together, we’re making literacy part of everyday life for families across Brown County.

What happened?
We brought business leaders together for a three-part Child Care Business Breakfast Series to understand challenges families face with child care.
What came from it?
Businesses gained a deeper understanding of how child care is affecting their employees. The Brown County Child Care Survey Data Brief guided these conversations.
Where do we go from here?
A new Brown County Business Roundtable will keep people moving toward action.

Child care is too big for any one organization to solve alone. When we bring our voices, knowledge, and relationships together, we CAN create lasting change.

The Founding 50, are the first 50 individuals who committed to be a Better Futures Together Donor.
They receive benefits such as special recognition on our website, socials, and other media, invitations to special gatherings and recognition in our annual reports.
