A Call from the Board: Investment in our Collective Impact Partnership in 2025

Dear Friends of Achieve Brown County,

We need your help.

As the Board of Directors for Achieve Brown County, we believe in the power of collective impact work. We believe that we are stronger and more effective when we have a professional, paid team that can bring together numerous cross-sector partners to coordinate the work, measure the data and hold us accountable to the goals we set.

Our Collective Impact Partnership is at risk. Our financial plan shows that we need to raise more money to continue the vital work of our Achieve Brown County Collective Impact Partnership through 2025, with specific needs of $25,000 in April and $135,000 in the months of May-August.

Why is our need so immediate?

We heard from our founding donors that our approach of large capital fundraising campaigns in 2014, 2017 and 2021 was not a sustainable model. After a strategic planning process that involved input from over 300 parents, community members, schools, nonprofits, businesses, healthcare partners, and more, we shifted to an annual fundraising model in 2024. We are developing a long-term, annual fundraising program and have even invested in a staff position focused on fundraising. This will bear fruit soon, but just like systems change takes time, shifting to a new fundraising strategy takes time as well.

What do funds support?

The majority of a financial investment in our Collective Impact Partnership is for staff. As you know, it is people who help us move work forward—people who convene groups, facilitate dialogue, and build bridges across sectors.

What has Achieve Brown County achieved and what’s next?

Our Accomplishments & Milestones flyer outlines past achievements, but we are not resting on that work. We are launching a Community Council and Data Advisory Team to bring more voices into our work. We have four action teams working to ensure all kids are reading at grade level by third grade through our Reading for the Future Initiative. We also are working to bring our community together to support childcare access and affordability.

We hope that, like us, you believe in the power of collective impact. We hope that, like us, you believe in the power of this moment to further strengthen our approach to helping youth across Brown County thrive. Learn more about our 2025 Priorities here.
