Community-Wide Visioning, Goal Setting & Action Alignment

Purpose

This project, led by the Reading for the Future Strategy Team, focuses on aligning all sectors of our community around shared goals and actions to achieve our shared community goal of all kids reading at grade level by third grade. Aligning actions towards shared goals ensures organizations and individuals tackle the issue of kids learning to read strategically rather than reactively and provides opportunities to receive feedback and input from partners to continuously improve our shared strategic action plan and activities.

Project Components:

• Convene community partners to set a strategic 2030 county-wide target for third grade reading.
• Align our community on a Shared Definition of Early Literacy.
• Host a Reading for the Future Early Literacy Convening twice per year to bring together our entire community to align actions, goals, and to ensure forward progress towards our shared goal of all kids reading at grade level by third grade.
