At Achieve Brown County, we are driven by the belief that every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive. Achieving this vision requires more than just good intentions—it takes action. That’s why the Achieve Brown County backbone team is thrilled to announce the creation of a new role to support the Collective Impact Partnership: Community Mobilizer. This position is designed to amplify community voices, foster equity, and drive the kind of systemic change our young people need.

Why This Role Matters

As a movement rooted in the principles of collective impact, we know that meaningful change comes from listening to and empowering those most impacted by the issues we aim to address. Over the years, we’ve heard from parents, youth, and community members about the challenges they face—challenges like resource gaps, cultural barriers, and limited access to opportunities that directly impact educational outcomes.

This role is about creating pathways for those voices to drive change. From facilitating a parent advocate group to supporting grassroots mobilization efforts, the Community Mobilizer will convene individuals, families, and organizations to address these barriers and create more equitable conditions across cradle-to-career systems.

Connecting to Our Strategic Plan

This work aligns closely with Achieve Brown County backbone team’s strategic plan, particularly within the “leveraging social capital” priority area. Two key initiatives—designing an engagement process for parent, youth, and community voice (4.4) and developing a model for policy and advocacy engagement (4.5)—form the foundation of this role. By turning strategy into action, the Community Mobilizer will:

  • Lead efforts to amplify grassroots voices in local and statewide advocacy.
  • Build systems that ensure underrepresented voices are central to decision-making processes in the Achieve Brown County Collective Impact Partnership.
  • Mobilize families and partners to advocate for critical policies, from early childhood education reform to addressing social determinants like housing and health.

Building a Movement

The Community Mobilizer isn’t just a new position—it’s a new opportunity for our community to come together and create lasting change. Imagine parents sharing their stories with policymakers, youth advocating for resources their schools need, and families coming together to build a stronger Brown County. That’s what we’re working toward.

As part of “The Wisconsin Partnerships,” Achieve Brown County is already working with other collective impact organizations across the state to advocate for early childhood education reform and early grade reading policy. With the addition of the Community Mobilizer, we’ll be able to expand this work and tackle other critical issues within cradle-to-career systems.

Join the Movement

At Achieve Brown County, we believe in the power of collective action to drive meaningful change. This addition to the backbone team builds on our vision to ensure every voice matters and every young person thrives.

Change starts with all of us. Let’s work together to ensure every voice is heard and every young person thrives.
